Currently Coveting--Fall 2014

Currently Coveting

{From Left to Right: Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace, JCrew Herringbone Vest (on sale, get on the waitlist!), Old Navy Utility Jacket (on sale), Leopard Cardigan, Kate Spade Gold Le Pavillion iPhone 5 case, GiGi New York Uber Clutch, Vineyard Vines Gingham Shirt, Kiel James Patrick Vickers Bow Bracelet, Steve Madden "Stecy" Heel (pre-order), STEVEN by Steve Madden "Ravesh" Pump}

My fall wardrobe needs a bit of tuning after last fall. I live in Florida, so I understand a lot of the quintessential "fall" items are useless here, but I still like to pretend. These items are perfect! Maybe not necessarily all appropriate for the stereotypical fall weather, but perfect for Florida's version of Fall.

Spoiler: I am on the waitlist to receive the JCrew vest, *fingers crossed* in two weeks and I can't wait! I also found the Ravesh pump and ordered them in nude and black because who can resist that bow, especially on sale! (I nabbed both of them for less than the price of one, score!)

As for the other items, I'll be waiting patiently.

PS. I'm going to be posting more now that school's over and I have a bit more time to dedicate to my blog.

{Adulthood: Day One}

So today was the first day of my new job.

I loved it! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. It was a bit overwhelming in the morning with all of the information being fed to me but I became more accustomed to it as the day progressed and I'm now more confident in my abilities to do my job and do it well. I'm excited about this job and how much I hope to grow from it.

The best part of my day, hands down, was the most special deliver ever. My wonderful boyfriend had flowers delivered to the office for my first day. I almost cried when I read his note. They're beautiful!

How sweet is he?! And sunflowers are my absolute favorite flowers! He's just too good to me.

Now, I'm waiting for class to begin. A perfect blogging opportunity!

So I think I'll be able to keep up with this blog more than I had thought I would. This morning I was able to get ready and not rush and still had time to take my pictures and shop the Lilly New Year Cheer Sale (I picked up a lunch bag and an iPad case). I was even early to work! I definitely think keeping up with this blog will be do-able.

Here's my outfit from today.

{Dress: Love Culture, Cardi: Nordstrom, Heels: Christian Siriano}

I absolutely love the design on the neckline of this dress. It instantly attracted me to it at the store. Adding the cardigan gives it a more professional look. The only issue I had with this dress was my hair kept getting caught in the stones on the back of my neck, but the cardigan controlled that a little. For class, I changed the heels for black bow flats and the outfit still looks great and professional.

I hope you all have a great rest of the day!

{Stripes of my Dreams}

Hey everyone! Welcome back!

Today's outfit has been a dream of mine for a while. I've always loved the look of the blue and white striped oxford from Ralph Lauren with a nice set of layered pearls. I'm necklace repeating from yesterday's post but it's definitely worth it.

{Shirt: Polo Ralph Lauren, Leggings: Love Culture, Boots: Old Navy, Pearls: Vintage)

I am absolutely obsessed with this outfit and it's probably my new favorite. The shirt fits great and it's absolutely adorable. It's going to be difficult to clean it and iron it so I may just take it to a dry cleaner so that it stays nice. This outfit is perfect for so many different occasions: work, dinner, movies, etc.

This shirt would also look great with a tan or brown pencil skirt and some heels for a more elegant look.

P.S. Sorry my hair looks a mess, I was in a bit of a rush this morning to get out of my house and to work.

First post! {Fall in Florida}

Hey everyone!

Welcome to my first post! I'm really excited to start blogging my outfits every day or when I can. On January 6th, I'll be starting a new full time job (eeek!) but I'll be keeping up with this as much as possible. A lot of my weekday outfits will be business chic for a bit until I officially know the dress code of this job.

I'm not sure how this all works, so I'm learning as I go. Suggestions are always appreciated :)

I'm sorry the pictures aren't very cute right now but I just ordered a tripod so that I may take pictures outside with nicer surroundings.

Ok, here we go.

{Plaid shirt: Forever 21, White undershirt: Forever 21, Leggings: Victoria's Secret, Boots: Old Navy, Pearls: Vintage, Watch: Swatch}

I just went Christmas shopping so I'm really excited to wear all of my new clothes. I've also moved on from constantly buying and wearing dresses to buying separates and being able to make a lot of different outfits with the same 2-3 items. Don't get me wrong, I still love my dresses but they don't necessarily fit in with the fall, even in Florida. Although the weather is incredibly hot outside, I refuse to accept it and I'm dressing as if it were 60 degrees as opposed to 90 degrees.

I wore this outfit to breakfast with my dad where he gave me my Christmas presents, one of which was the camera I used to take these pictures.

The shirt is actually flannel so, contrary to what my mom thought, it actually didn't make me suffocate, it kept me warm at breakfast where I was the lucky one to sit under the air vent. The leggings and boots have become a staple in my wardrobe so you'll be seeing a lot more of them. And finally, my pearls. They were my mom's and I borrowed them one day a few years ago and have yet to give them back. I love the layering look of the pearls especially with a seemingly simple outfit.

Happy 2014!
